Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has released Rs 60 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for feeding stray dogs and other animals in urban and semi-urban areas during the lockdown phase ending on May 19.
The funds will be utilised in 5 Municipal Corporations, 48 Municipalities and 61 NACS in the state.
While the Municipal Corporations of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Rourkela, Sambalpur and Berhampur will be utilising Rs 20,000, it is 48 Municipalities of Rs 5,000 each and Rs 2,000 each for NACS to feed the cattle, dogs and birds during the lockdown period.
Notably, the Department of Housing and Urban Development had asked civic bodies to make necessary provisions for providing food for the stary animals in urban and semi-urban areas.
