The annual Plus 2 examinations conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, commenced on Wednesday across the state under enhanced security arrangements, marking a significant step toward ensuring transparency and fairness.

For the first time, CHSE has implemented AI-enabled CCTV surveillance at question paper hubs. The surveillance system is directly monitored by the Council to prevent malpractice and strengthen the integrity of the examination process.

According to official sources, live streaming begins from the moment question papers are collected from designated hubs until they are opened at the respective examination centres. Authorities have also deployed 102 flying squads operating at five different levels to ensure strict monitoring throughout the examination period.

This year, a total of 4,01,623 students are appearing for the Plus 2 examinations, which will continue until March 28. Students have been advised to reach their examination centres by 9:30 am to allow sufficient time for verification and seating arrangements.

Odisha Matric Exams 2026 Begin February 19

Meanwhile, the High School Certificate (Matric) examinations will begin on February 19 across Odisha. As many as 5,61,979 students are scheduled to appear at 3,082 examination centres statewide.

Live streaming arrangements have been made at 1,364 centres to ensure transparency. AI technology is also being used to monitor question paper hubs for the Matric examinations.

Speaking on the preparations, Prashant Kumar Parida, Controller of Examinations, stated that students must reach their centres by 9:30 am and complete necessary verification procedures before occupying their seats by 9:45 am.

Amulya Kumar Pradhan, Vice-President of CHSE Odisha, confirmed that all nodal centres and strong rooms storing question papers remain under continuous surveillance. Immediate action will be taken if any irregularities are detected.

Odisha School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond assured that comprehensive arrangements have been made to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the examinations.

Strengthened Examination Security Across Odisha

The introduction of AI surveillance, CCTV monitoring, live streaming, and multi-tier flying squads reflects Odisha’s commitment to conducting secure, transparent, and inclusive board examinations in 2026.

Education authorities have urged all students, parents, and guardians to cooperate with examination guidelines to ensure a smooth and stress-free process for everyone involved.
