Odisha’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Shri R.S. Gopalan (IAS), chaired a virtual review meeting with all District Election Officers (DEOs) and Collectors to assess the preparedness for the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls 2026.

The meeting focused on the current status of field-level implementation and discussed measures to streamline the revision process. Shri Gopalan stressed the importance of adhering to the Election Commission of India’s guidelines and called for proactive engagement from all officers involved.

📋 Key Action Points Discussed:

  • Comparative analysis of electoral rolls from 2002 and 2025, with summary reports submitted
  • Status update on disposal of Forms 6, 7, and 8 as of September 25, 2025
  • Immediate printing and distribution of enumeration forms post-SIR schedule announcement
  • Filling of vacant posts linked to electoral activities by DEOs and Collectors
  • Coordination between ERO/AERO offices and BLOs for uploading forms at designated locations
  • Preparations for press conferences and meetings with political parties on the day of SIR announcement
  • Second-phase training for all election-related personnel post-announcement

The CEO urged all district officials to ensure well-planned and timely execution of each activity to make the Special Intensive Revision 2026 smooth and transparent. He emphasized full cooperation with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and reiterated that all tasks must be carried out in strict compliance with ECI directives.
