Odisha marked Utkal Divas with grand celebrations, paying tribute to its rich history, culture, and the struggle that led to its formation as a separate state on April 1, 1936.
The occasion was observed with flag hoisting, cultural performances, and tributes to the state’s founding leaders.
Adding to the patriotic fervor, Odia Paksha—a two-week-long initiative from April 1 to 14—has begun, aiming to promote the Odia language, heritage, and identity. Various events, including literary discussions, traditional music and dance programs, and awareness campaigns, have been organized across the state to encourage pride in Odisha’s linguistic and cultural roots.
With vibrant parades, illuminated monuments, and a renewed focus on Odia traditions, Utkal Divas and Odia Paksha together reinforce Odisha’s cultural resurgence and unity.
