Amid the escalating India-Pakistan conflict and the prevailing war-like atmosphere across the nation, the Odisha government has cancelled all sanctioned leaves for senior district-level officers, including Revenue Divisional Commissioners (RDCs), District Collectors, and District Magistrates (DMs).
A high-priority directive issued late Friday evening instructed all officers currently on leave to return to their respective headquarters immediately and resume official duties without delay. The state government emphasized that no further leave applications will be entertained during this critical period, citing the need for maximum administrative preparedness and crisis response coordination.
According to top officials from the General Administration Department, the decision comes in light of the rapidly evolving national security situation, following Pakistan’s cross-border missile and drone attacks and India’s ongoing retaliatory Operation Sindoor.
“All RDCs, Collectors, and DMs are to ensure their presence in headquarters for immediate emergency response, coordination with central agencies, and implementation of security protocols,” the government circular read.
State government sources confirmed that emergency control rooms have been activated in all districts, and senior bureaucrats have been advised to stay in close contact with disaster management, health, and home department officials.
