Even as Odisha residents anticipate relief from rain and thunderstorms, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has urged extra caution, forecasting severe heatwave conditions for the next two days.
The IMD has issued a Red Warning for heatwave to severe heatwave conditions in some parts of the state, alongside an Orange Warning for hot and humid conditions in several districts.

Day 2 (March 16–March 17, 2025):
Red Warning: Severe heatwave conditions expected in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and Kalahandi.
Orange Warning: Heatwave conditions likely in Angul, Sundargarh, Sonepur, and Boudh.
Day 3 (March 17–March 18, 2025):
Orange Warning: Heatwave conditions expected in Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, and Kalahandi.

Yellow Warning: Isolated heatwave conditions likely in Balangir, Kalahandi, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh, and Nuapada.
