Odisha Assembly opened with chaos as ruling and opposition members clashed over farmers’ concerns.
The uproar began when BJD legislators entered the House holding placards and shouting slogans. Opposition members responded with loud protests near the Speaker’s podium. The disruption prevented the Question Hour from proceeding, forcing the Speaker to adjourn the House until 11:30 AM.
The protest centred on farmer-related issues, including crop-cutting disputes, mandi problems, and alleged anti-farmer policies. Legislators demanded immediate government action and accountability.
The heated exchanges highlighted growing tensions between the ruling party and the opposition. Both sides accused each other of ignoring the farmers’ plight. The Speaker struggled to maintain order as slogans echoed across the chamber.
