A tragic incident occurred in Nuapada district when a youth drowned while attempting to cross a river. The deceased has been identified as Lochan Majhi of Kakeramanji village.
According to reports, Majhi was swept away by the strong current while crossing the river yesterday. Despite immediate efforts, he drowned before help could reach him.
On receiving information, a rescue team rushed to the spot and began an intensive search operation. After several hours of effort, Majhi’s body was recovered from the river.
