In the early hours of April 3, police forces from Angul and Talcher carried out a strategic operation to apprehend Sushant Nayak, a criminal notorious for his involvement in several cases in Talcher.


The encounter took place in a dense forest near Scotlandpur village, where Nayak attempted to evade capture and fired at the police.

In the ensuing clash, Nayak was injured, sustaining a gunshot wound to his left leg. Law enforcement acted swiftly, ensuring he received medical attention at Angul District Headquarters Hospital. As the investigation unfolds, authorities are expected to reveal additional details about Nayak’s criminal history and the circumstances of the encounter.

This incident sheds light on the tireless efforts of Odisha police to maintain law and order, ensuring public safety even in challenging situations.
