Malkangiri: Mangu Khila, the newly elected Congress MLA of Chitrakonda constituency of Malkangiri district, was bitten by a snake in the dark while standing in front of his house on Wednesday.
He fell ill as the snake bit him. Family members and District Congress President Gobind Chandra Patra immediately admitted him to the nearest Kudumuluguma Primary Hospital.
He is out of danger and in good health condition, informed Patra.
Yesterday, Mangu came as victorious defeating Dambaru Sisa of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Chitrakonda assembly constituency on Congress ticket.
