The Odisha government is preparing to implement a new excise policy shortly, aiming to bring significant changes in alcohol regulation and management.
Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan has announced that the policy will be for three years and is expected to be introduced between June 15 and June 20.
Ahead of its introduction, a study team has been formed to analyse excise policies in various states, including Andhra Pradesh. The team, led by a senior government secretary, will visit different states to conduct detailed research and ensure the new policy aligns with best practices.
