The Madhya Pradesh High Court has temporarily stayed the release of the NEET UG 2025 results following a complaint from a student in Indore.
The student alleged that a power outage during the exam on May 4 affected her ability to perform well, prompting the court to intervene.
The Indore bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court noted that the test environment was compromised due to electricity disruptions caused by bad weather. Some students reportedly had to continue their exam under candlelight, raising concerns about fairness in the assessment process.
On May 16, Justice Subodh Abhyankar ruled that the results would remain on hold until further review. The court has demanded responses from the National Testing Agency (NTA), the Central Government, and the MP West Zone Electricity Distribution Company within four weeks.
With the next hearing scheduled for June 30, uncertainty looms for over 21 lakh NEET UG aspirants awaiting their scores. The previously expected result date of June 14 now remains uncertain, leaving students and parents anxious about potential delays.
Officials have yet to clarify whether this court order applies to all students nationwide or only those affected by power outages in select centres.
