BJD president and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik will campaign in Komna, Nuapada Assembly constituency, on November 3, as announced in a video message released by his office.
The message features his iconic phrase, “Aapana mane khusi ta?”, a crowd-pleaser from his 2019 campaign that resonated widely with voters.
Patnaik’s upcoming visit comes at a politically charged moment. The BJD Youth and Students’ wings staged protests in Nuapada, accusing the District Collector and Superintendent of Police of acting as “star campaigners of the BJP.” These allegations have intensified the political atmosphere ahead of the campaign.
In Bhubaneswar, senior BJD leader Lekhasri Samantsinghar called on the district administration to uphold neutrality during the election process. She emphasized the importance of maintaining public trust in democratic institutions.
Patnaik’s return to the campaign trail, especially in a region under scrutiny, is expected to draw significant attention. Observers are keen to see whether he will address the controversy surrounding the district officials during his speech in Komna.
The campaign marks a strategic move by the BJD to energize its base and reassert its presence in western Odisha. With his signature slogan and calm demeanor, Patnaik aims to reconnect with voters and steer the narrative in his party’s favor.
