Former Odisha Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition, Naveen Patnaik, was admitted to SUM Ultimate Medicare in Bhubaneswar on Sunday at 5:15 PM after falling ill due to dehydration. A medical team led by Dr. Alok Panigrahi is overseeing his treatment.

According to hospital authorities, Patnaik’s condition is stable, and he is responding well to treatment. However, Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling stated that the BJD leader is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for rest and observation.

On Sunday evening, Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling, Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, and MLA Babu Singh visited the hospital to assess Patnaik’s condition. The visit was prompted by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who directed the Health Minister to monitor the situation closely.

Speaking to the media, Dr. Mahaling confirmed that Patnaik’s health is stable and that the medical team has been advised to provide the best possible care. “If needed, the government is ready to deploy an additional medical team to support the ongoing treatment,” Mahaling added, extending wishes for Patnaik’s speedy recovery.

BJD leaders and supporters gathered at the hospital, with a large crowd of well-wishers seen outside, expressing concern for their leader.
