Naveen Patnaik Expresses Concern Over Bomb Threat Emails to Odisha Courts

Odisha Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik expressed deep concern after district courts in Sambalpur, Cuttack, and Deogarh received bomb threat emails.

Patnaik said he was “deeply concerned” upon learning about the threats. He stressed that the safety of judicial institutions, including judges, lawyers, litigants, court staff, and the general public, must remain the highest priority.

He urged senior officials to conduct immediate, thorough, and appropriate investigations into the threats. Patnaik demanded that authorities identify the source of the emails, track those involved, and bring the findings before the public without delay.

The Leader of Opposition also appealed to citizens to remain calm, avoid spreading rumours, and extend full cooperation to security agencies. He emphasised that public trust in the judicial system depends on swift and transparent action.

The bomb threat emails have triggered widespread concern across Odisha, with police and security agencies already investigating the matter. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage, scanning digital trails, and deploying additional personnel to ensure safety in court premises.
