Bhubaneswar: The ‘National Road Safety Month 2021′ would be observed from January 18 to February 17 with an array of programs focusing on awareness of road safety, traffic rules, and prevention of accidents.
Reportedly, a meeting, led by Police Commissioner Dr. Sudhansu Sarangi along with Twin City traffic DCP Soumya Mishra, was organised at the Police Seva Bhawan on Wednesday.
CPÂ Sarang Sudhansu chaired the meeting & stressed upon Theme Based Intervention based on major traffic violations & Traffic education.
As per reports, accident count in the Twin Cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar has dropped significantly during the time period that was affected by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. However, it began to rise post-lockdowns and curfews that pushed denizens into their homes for several months.

Hence, a discussion, on several issues i.e. violations (like driving on the opposite side of the road, not wearing helmets, and using phone while driving) were held among top cops.
They held a discussion on several online facilities for students, and the establishment of medical checkup camps for auto drivers, bus drivers, and traffic police.
The meeting was held in the presence of Cuttack urban police and Bhubaneswar urban police’s traffic team, 65 representatives from various NGOs, automobile owners’ associations, bus & truck owners’ association, auto-rickshaw association, and several Hospital representatives.
