A court in Nashik has reserved its order on the anticipatory bail plea of Nida Khan, a key accused in an alleged sexual exploitation and coercion case linked to a BPO unit of Tata Consultancy Services.

The bench of Additional Sessions Judge K.G. Joshi heard arguments from the prosecution, which opposed granting pre-arrest relief, citing new findings and the need for custodial interrogation.

Allegations of Exploitation and Coercion

According to complaints filed with local police, the case involves allegations of sexual exploitation under the pretext of marriage, harassment, and coercion related to personal beliefs.

One complainant alleged that a co-worker exploited her and that multiple individuals were involved in inappropriate conduct at the workplace. The case has drawn attention due to the serious nature of the accusations and the number of individuals named.

Claims of Pressure and Misrepresentation

The prosecution informed the court that the accused allegedly attempted to influence the complainant through promises of overseas job opportunities and personal support.

Investigators also stated that there were claims of pressure being exerted on the complainant regarding personal choices, which are now being examined as part of the broader inquiry.

Special Investigation Team Expands Probe

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to probe the case in detail. Officials said the investigation is focusing on multiple aspects, including communication records, financial links, and possible connections beyond the immediate workplace.

Authorities have also invoked provisions of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act after the complainant stated her community background, adding further legal dimensions to the case.

Custodial Interrogation Sought

Special Public Prosecutor Ajay Misar argued that custodial interrogation of Nida Khan is essential to uncover critical aspects such as the alleged money trail and any potential external links.

He maintained that granting anticipatory bail at this stage could hinder the investigation.

Seven Accused Arrested So Far

The case reportedly involves eight individuals, out of whom seven have already been arrested. Nida Khan remains untraceable, making her bail plea a crucial aspect of the ongoing legal proceedings.

Court Order Expected Soon

The court has reserved its decision on the anticipatory bail plea and is expected to announce its order in the coming days. The outcome will likely influence the next phase of the investigation.

The Nashik case continues to unfold with new developments emerging during the investigation. Authorities have emphasised that all claims are being examined carefully, and due legal process will determine the outcome.
