Barang: More than 13,000 animal lovers thronged the Nandankanan Zoological Park in the city outskirts today on the first day of New Year amid COVID restrictions.
According to deputy director of NZP, a total of 12,439 people visited the Zoological Park and 1229 people visited the Botanical Garden. Only, 418 visitors had got the tickets online.
While the picnickers thronged Nadankanan to spend leisure time with near and dear ones amid natural environment, four elephants have turned the centre of attraction for them.
Three trained female elephants ‘Prema’, ‘Heera’ and ‘Basanti’ have been mesmerising the tourists and six-year-old jumbo ‘Mama’ have also joined the league. Visitors were also seen requesting the Mahuts to let them have blessings from the elephants.
