Three people died in a tragic road accident near Mahadevshal on the Karanjia-Khiching road on Sunday afternoon in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.

Reportedly, one individual is seriously injured and is currently receiving treatment at Karanjia Hospital.

According to reports, the victims, Mata Ram Gagarai (60), Shivprasad Jerai (28), and Rajat Kumar Chatar (26), all from Kudsahi village in the Raruan PS Baria Panchayat, were riding a scooter towards Karanjia. An unknown youth on another scooter was attempting to overtake a car when he collided head-on with their scooter, resulting in a fatal crash.

While Rajat, Mata Ram, and the unknown youth lost their lives in the accident, Shivprasad was admitted to Karanjia Sub-Divisional Hospital in critical condition.

Singada Outpost In-charge Tapan Kumar Barik reported that both damaged scooters have been seized, and an investigation is underway.
