Iran signalled its stance ahead of the high-stakes talks with the United States in Islamabad through a symbolic message delivered by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

Before departing for Pakistan, Ghalibaf shared a photograph from inside the aircraft carrying Iran’s delegation. The image showed empty seats marked with photographs of schoolchildren who were killed in a missile strike on a school in Minab at the beginning of the conflict.
Referring to the children as his “companions,” Ghalibaf’s message underscored Iran’s perspective on the origins of the conflict and the human cost involved.
Iran has attributed the Minab strike to the United States, while Washington has denied responsibility.
