Amid controversy surrounding the alleged theft of Modaks at the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, SJTA Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee has clarified that the initial claims are not yet supported by verified evidence.

He stressed the need for a thorough and impartial investigation before drawing any conclusions.

“The matter is sensitive and linked to the sentiments of devotees. At this stage, we must avoid speculation. Proper procedures will be followed to ascertain the facts,” Padhee stated.

The incident has sparked public concern and political reactions, but temple authorities have urged for restraint until the inquiry is complete. The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) is expected to release a detailed report following internal checks and consultations with servitors.
