Tensions ran high near the Railway Colony under Ambadala police limits on Friday morning after local residents discovered the body of a man floating inside an open septic tank at an under-construction site.
The deceased has been identified as Garib Bag, a resident of Baghdangari village.
Mysterious Disappearance
According to family members, Bag left his residence on Thursday evening for routine errands but failed to return home late into the night. Alarmed by his sudden disappearance, family members launched a frantic search across neighbouring localities throughout the night, but yielded no results.
The distressing search came to a grim halt on Friday morning when local villagers spotted his body floating in water inside an uncovered septic tank near an under-construction house close to the Railway Colony. Villagers immediately alerted the Ambadala police.
Family Suspects Murder, Police Launch Investigation
Upon receiving the report, a team from the Ambadala police station rushed to the scene to retrieve the body and secure the site for forensic assessment.
While the exact circumstances surrounding Bag’s death remain unclear, his grieving family members have alleged foul play, claiming he was murdered and his body dumped into the open tank to cover up the crime.
Police authorities have registered an unnatural death case and initiated a full-scale investigation. Officials stated that the body will be sent for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the precise cause and time of death. Detectives are currently questioning locals, mapping Bag’s final movements on Thursday evening, and looking into potential personal disputes to determine whether foul play was involved.
