Odisha is bracing for a significant rise in temperatures starting April 20, as per meteorological forecasts.
Currently, the state is experiencing relatively moderate heat due to the influence of nor’wester winds, commonly known as Kalbaisakhi. However, with rainfall expected to decrease over the next three days, weather experts predict a sharp spike in daytime temperatures.
According to weather scientist Uma Shankar Das, interior regions of Odisha may witness temperatures exceeding 40°C, increasing the possibility of heatwave conditions. This shift could bring discomfort to residents and heighten the need for precautionary measures.
Local authorities urge citizens to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged outdoor exposure, and take steps to mitigate the effects of extreme heat. As temperatures climb, vigilance will be crucial to ensure public safety.
