Meghalaya Police have secured a three-day transit remand for Sonam Raghuvanshi, the prime accused in the alleged murder of her husband, Indore resident Raja Raghuvanshi.
Sonam surrendered in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, and was subsequently transported to Patna’s Phulwari Sarif police station before being taken to Shillong.
Authorities allege that Raja was murdered during the couple’s honeymoon trip in Meghalaya, reportedly by contract killers allegedly hired by Sonam. Alongside Sonam, three other accused—Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan, and Raj Singh Kushwaha—have also been remanded for further investigation.
Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Prestone Tynsong, confirmed the arrests, stating that law enforcement officials are still searching for one remaining suspect. Meanwhile, police reports indicate that Raja suffered two severe head injuries, as confirmed by the post-mortem examination.
The incident has sparked nationwide concern, as investigators continue to piece together evidence related to the shocking crime.
