A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Shankarpur village, where a 15-year-old matriculation student, Truptimayee Mahanta, allegedly took her own life after being distressed over her exam results.

Truptimayee, daughter of Kamala Kant Mahanta and Jhilli Mani, was a student at Naradpur PM Shri High School. She had high expectations for her matriculation results but was reportedly disappointed upon learning she had scored 256 marks.

After returning home, she had dinner and went to bed as usual. However, the next morning, her family discovered that she had taken her own life using her scarf. Shocked and devastated, they immediately informed the local authorities.

Upon receiving the report, Champua Police Station Officer Debaki Nayak arrived at the scene and took charge of the investigation.

The body was sent for post-mortem at Champua Hospital, and authorities are looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The tragic loss of Truptimayee has left the village in mourning. Her untimely death has reignited discussions on academic pressure and mental health awareness among students. Many are calling for better emotional support systems to help students cope with exam-related stress.
