A person sustained critical injuries after a massive fire broke out in a paper cartoon factory in Bhakurguda under Chandili police station in Rayagada district on Sunday.
A fire broke out at the Satyam Paper and Mover factory in Bhakurguda on Sunday afternoon for an unknown reason. The blaze originated in a chemical warehouse and quickly spread throughout the entire factory.
Upon receiving the emergency call, five fire engines from JK, IMPA, Rayagada, and Kolnara were dispatched to the scene and worked tirelessly for three hours to extinguish the flames. Factory workers and local residents also assisted in firefighting efforts.
While the exact cause of the fire remains unclear, factory authorities have indicated that it started in the chemical warehouse. Additionally, there are concerns that the fire extinguishing system in such a large facility was inadequate.
At the time of the incident, there were no employees present at the factory to help combat the fire. It is estimated that goods worth over one crore rupees were destroyed. Unfortunately, one person sustained a broken leg due to the fire, and raw materials and chemicals, including paper cartons, were reduced to ashes.
