In a major urban enforcement move, the Bhubaneswar Development Authority has launched its largest-ever anti-encroachment drive in Bhubaneswar.
The operation is currently underway in the Shyampur area under Bharatpur police limits, targeting nearly 68 acres of encroached land.
Heavy Deployment to Maintain Law and Order
To ensure smooth execution and prevent any disturbances, the Commissionerate Police has deployed extensive security forces at the site.
- 7 platoons of police personnel
- More than 20 senior officers on ground
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation as the demolition progresses.
Massive Operation with Bulldozers and Workforce
The eviction drive is being carried out on a war footing with significant manpower and machinery:
- Around 150 officials from BDA involved
- Nearly 10 JCB machines deployed for demolition
- Continuous clearing of structures across the 68-acre stretch
Officials confirmed that this is the largest eviction operation ever undertaken by BDA, highlighting the scale and seriousness of the action.
Focus on Urban Land Protection
The initiative is part of a broader effort by authorities to reclaim government land and regulate unplanned urban expansion. Clearing encroachments is expected to support future infrastructure development and planned urban growth in the city.
Operation Still Ongoing
As of the latest update, the eviction drive is still in progress, with authorities continuing efforts to clear the entire encroached area.
