Security forces have arrested six active Maoists, including two women, in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district.
The joint operation, carried out by District Reserve Guard (DRG) and COBRA-210 personnel, took place in the dense forest region of Malepalli under the jurisdiction of Basaguda police station in Bijapur district.
According to sources, the arrested Maoists were actively involved in militant activities. Two among them had bounties of Rs 1 lakh each on their heads. The operation led to the seizure of tiffin bombs, detonators, cordex wires, electric fuse wires, excavation tools, and propaganda materials linked to Maoist Martyr Week.
An FIR has been lodged at the Basaguda police station under multiple sections of the Explosives Act. All six accused were produced before the Bijapur court and have been sent to judicial custody for departmental interrogation.
The arrest marks a crucial blow to the Maoist network operating in the inter-state border areas, further reaffirming the commitment of security forces to curb extremism in the region.
