A tragic incident unfolded in Rourkela as a man allegedly murdered his father following a domestic dispute and left the body by the roadside near Sanpatrapali under the Brahminitarang police limits.
The victim, a resident of Bhalupatra village, was reportedly killed after a heated argument escalated between him and his son. In an apparent attempt to conceal the crime, the accused is believed to have dumped the body on the roadside during the night.
Local residents made the grim discovery early Monday morning and immediately alerted authorities. Brahminitarang police arrived promptly at the scene and have since taken the son into custody for interrogation.
“Initial findings point toward a family-related dispute as the motive behind the murder,” a police officer informed. “The accused is being questioned, and further investigation is underway to establish the full sequence of events.”
The incident has shocked the local community and reignited concerns over rising domestic violence and strained familial relations in the region.
