A man identified as Shivram Sahu, a transport businessman from Uditnagar, went missing after allegedly jumping into the Brahmani River from the Brahmani New Bridge on Friday morning following a family dispute.
The incident occurred around 8 am. According to reports, a quarrel had broken out in his family earlier in the day. Later, Shivram called a woman known to him from Plantsite to his residence. After speaking with her, he drove towards Vedvyas TCI Square with her in his car.
At the location, Shivram allegedly consumed some medicines inside the vehicle despite the woman’s attempts to stop him. He then drove to the Brahmani New Bridge, suddenly got out of the car, and jumped into the river while the woman sat in the rear seat.
The woman raised an alarm, and motorists passing by informed the police and fire services. Personnel from Brahmani Tarang police station and fire services immediately launched a search operation.
