A man identified as Lambodar Bag from Salepada village was found dead in a hanging position near his in-laws’ residence in Kantabanji police limits, Bolangir district.
The body was discovered on Thursday morning in a mango orchard, four days after he had arrived at his in-laws’ village.
According to sources, Lambodar had left the house on Wednesday and was found hanging the next day. Locals immediately alerted the police, who reached the spot and seized the body for post-mortem examination.
As of now, it remains unclear whether the death was a case of suicide or homicide. Kantabanji police have launched a detailed investigation and are exploring all possible angles.
