A man was apprehended while attempting to climb the sacred premises of the Jagannath Temple in Puri.
The incident occurred near the Beherana Dwara, one of the temple’s key entry points, where the individual managed to ascend nearly five feet before being restrained.
According to eyewitnesses, the man was intercepted by Jagannath Temple Police (JTP) and temple servitors, who acted swiftly to prevent further escalation. Preliminary reports suggest that the individual hails from Ranchi and may be suffering from mental instability.
The temple administration has confirmed that the man was taken into custody and is being evaluated. No damage was reported to the temple structure, and the situation was brought under control without incident.
Authorities are investigating the motive behind the act and have urged visitors to respect the sanctity of the temple premises.
