A shocking incident has been reported from MV-72 village under Kalimela block in Malkangiri district, where a man allegedly lured three minor girls with ice cream and took them to his house.
Families of the victims lodged a written complaint at the MV-79 police station on November 25.
According to the complaint, the accused, identified as Naren Ray, allegedly committed sexual assault inside his residence. Following the incident, the victims’ families approached the police, who registered the case and began an investigation.
MV-79 police station in-charge Chandrakant Tandi confirmed that the police are treating the matter with seriousness and have launched a probe. The accused, aged 47, is currently absconding.
The incident has triggered outrage in the village, with locals demanding strict action against the accused. Police teams are conducting searches to trace him.
Authorities assured that the investigation will continue until justice is delivered.
