Odisha Vigilance arrested Sri Siba Mallick, OAS, Tahasildar of Mahakalpada, Kendrapara, for possessing disproportionate assets worth 190% more than his known income.
Investigators uncovered four buildings, seven plots, ₹18 lakh in bank deposits, and ₹1.55 lakh in cash. Mallick failed to justify the source of these assets.
Officials registered a new case—Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No.31 dated October 9, 2025—against Mallick and his spouse under Sections 13(2), 13(1)(b), and 12 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. Vigilance officers are forwarding him to court today while continuing the investigation.
On September 23, 2025, Vigilance officers caught Mallick accepting a ₹20,000 bribe from a complainant who sought help in removing an illegal structure blocking access to his house. That case—Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No.29—was registered under Section 7 of the same Act. Authorities arrested Mallick and produced him in court on September 24.
After the initial trap, Vigilance teams searched multiple locations linked to Mallick. They evaluated the findings and confirmed the presence of substantial unaccounted assets. These discoveries led to his second arrest.
Odisha Vigilance continues to intensify its crackdown on corruption. The arrest of Mallick sends a strong message against misuse of public office and reinforces the state’s commitment to clean governance.
