The Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack, convicted Subash Chandra Mishra, former BDO, OAS-1, Lefripada Block, Sundargarh (Retired), in a disproportionate assets (DA) case.
Mishra was charge-sheeted under Section 13(2) read with 13(1)(e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, for possessing assets beyond his known sources of income.
Following the conviction, Mishra has been sentenced to two years of rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs 50,000. Odisha Vigilance has announced its intention to approach the competent authority to halt his pension in light of the verdict.
This case marks another significant step in Odisha Vigilance’s ongoing efforts to combat corruption and hold public officials accountable.
