KL Rahul has seemingly put an end to speculation over his future with Delhi Capitals ahead of the IPL 2027 mini-auction.
The India batter responded to a post from Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal, who praised Rahul as a “clutch player” and hinted at unfinished business with the franchise. Rahul’s reply — “Thank you, can’t wait for the coming season” — strongly indicates that he will continue with DC in IPL 2027.
Jindal had written on X: “KL IS KLUTCH FOR @DelhiCapitals – one of the nicest guys I know and one who puts the team before himself always. We have unfinished business and will work hard together to make Delhi proud @IPL.”
Rahul responded: “Thank you, can’t wait for the coming season.”

KL Rahul set to continue with Delhi Capitals
Rahul joined Delhi Capitals ahead of the IPL 2025 season for ₹14 crore and has been among the franchise’s key batters over the past two campaigns.
He scored 539 runs in IPL 2025 before improving his tally to 593 runs in the 2026 season.
The 34-year-old had previously captained Punjab Kings before taking charge of Lucknow Super Giants for three seasons. His move to Delhi Capitals in 2025 marked another significant chapter in his IPL career.
With Rahul now indicating his intention to continue with DC, speculation about a possible trade involving the batter appears to have been put to rest.
Rishabh Pant, Kuldeep Yadav trades already completed
Trade activity has already begun ahead of IPL 2027, with Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav officially involved in a major exchange between Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants.
Pant returned to Delhi Capitals, while Kuldeep moved to Lucknow Super Giants.
Rahul’s response to Jindal’s post now suggests that DC will retain another major player from its recent setup.
Hardik Pandya’s IPL 2027 future remains uncertain
Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya’s future with Mumbai Indians remains a subject of speculation.
Reports suggest trade talks involving the all-rounder have yet to materialise, with Mumbai Indians reportedly not receiving a deal they consider suitable. As a result, Hardik could remain with MI for another season.
However, a potential change in Mumbai Indians’ captaincy could add another layer to the situation. Rohit Sharma is reportedly involved in discussions over the franchise’s leadership plans.
For now, Rahul’s public exchange with Jindal provides the clearest indication yet that the batter is set to remain a Delhi Capitals player for IPL 2027.
