A young bride-to-be from Tolakanandi village in Odisha’s Keonjhar district was allegedly kidnapped on the evening of April 28, just two days before her wedding.

The victim and her brother were returning from the local market when four unidentified individuals intercepted them. The assailants forcibly took her away in a vehicle, leaving her brother helpless and distraught.

Family members, who were eagerly awaiting the joyous occasion with all arrangements in place, now stand overwhelmed by grief and uncertainty. “We were all preparing for the happiest day of her life; never could we have imagined this tragedy,” lamented a relative.

The local police have initiated an investigation into the incident but have yet to make any significant breakthroughs or identify suspects. Meanwhile, the incident has caused unrest among villagers, who are demanding urgent action to ensure the woman’s safety.
