Tensions flared outside Pattamundai Hospital after a 4-year-old boy was allegedly left paralyzed in his left leg due to a wrongly administered injection.
The incident occurred three days ago when the child was brought to the hospital for treatment of an illness.
According to the family, the child received an injection at the hospital, after which his left leg became immobile. The sudden deterioration in his condition has led to widespread outrage among locals, prompting the family and villagers to stage a protest in front of the hospital demanding justice and medical accountability.
Eyewitnesses reported that the protestors blocked the hospital entrance, calling for an investigation into the medical negligence and immediate action against the responsible staff. The hospital authorities have yet to issue an official statement.
