In view of the upcoming severe cyclonic storm “Murasu” forming over the Bay of Bengal, the District Collector and District Magistrate of Kandhamal has officially announced a two-day closure of all educational institutions across the district.
According to the official order issued on November 2, 2026, all classes for students ranging from Class 1 up to Class 12 will remain suspended on November 3 and November 4, 2026. The decision has been taken under the powers vested by section 30(2)(v) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, to ensure the safety and security of students.
However, the administration has clarified that any pre-scheduled examinations or related activities will remain unaffected and will be conducted as per their previously designated timelines. School authorities, including the District Education Officer and District Welfare Officer, have been instructed to implement these directives meticulously. Parents and guardians are advised to keep students indoors and stay updated with official weather bulletins.
