Kandhamal Police arrested two key members of the CPI Maoist Area Committee during a planned operation near Satlada under the jurisdiction of Baliguda Police Station.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Ajay and Manju, both reportedly holding influential roles in the Maoist hierarchy. Acting on precise intelligence inputs, the police team launched a swift operation that led to their successful capture.
Officials state that the duo was actively involved in planning insurgent activities in the region and had been under surveillance for some time. Their arrest is being regarded as a major breakthrough in the ongoing crackdown against Left-Wing Extremism in the Kandhamal-Kalahandi-Boudh-Nayagarh (KKBN) division.
This development follows a series of coordinated actions by security forces to dismantle Maoist strongholds in Odisha’s forested districts. Weapons, communication tools, and other incriminating materials were also recovered during the operation.
Police have appealed to other Maoist operatives to surrender and join the mainstream, reaffirming their commitment to restoring peace and development in the region.
