The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, one of the most sacred pilgrimages for devotees of Lord Shiva, will resume on June 30, 2025, after a five-year break.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has announced that this year’s journey will continue until August and has opened the application process for eager pilgrims.
A total of 750 devotees, divided into 15 batches, will embark on this spiritual journey to Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar, nestled in the Tibet Autonomous Region. Pilgrims will take two routes:
- Five batches will cross over via the Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand.
- Ten batches will travel through the Nathu La Pass in Sikkim.
Applications can be submitted online at . The MEA assures that the selection process will be completely computerised, ensuring fairness, randomisation, and gender balance. Pilgrims are encouraged to use the feedback options on the website for inquiries, observations, and suggestions.
Since 2015, the entire application and selection process has been automated, streamlining the journey for all aspirants.
The pilgrimage to Mount Kailash, believed to be Lord Shiva’s abode, holds immense spiritual significance for Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and Bon followers worldwide.
