Odisha Vigilance Sleuths today arrested Sreemukha Bag, Gramarakhi (GR) of Junagarh PS, Kalahandi for taking a bribe of Rs 3,500.
Bag has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking a bribe of Rs.3500 (3,000 for ASI & Rs 500 for himself) as per the instruction of Mukunda Khemundu, ASI, Junagarh PS from a Complainant to help him in a case registered against him in Junagarh Police Station.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from Bag and seized. On seeing the Vigilance team, ASI Mukunda Khemundu managed to escape. Efforts are on to nab him.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Khemundu, ASI from DA angle.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance PS Case number 30 dated 26.12.24 U/s.7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. The investigation is in progress against both ASI & Gramarakhi.
