Acclaimed actor Jr. NTR is set to portray Dadasaheb Phalke, the Father of Indian Cinema, in the highly anticipated biopic Made in India.
The film, originally announced in September 2023, is being produced by Varun Gupta and SS Karthikeya, with SS Rajamouli backing the project.
Sources reveal that Rajamouli, Karthikeya, and Gupta recently narrated the script to Jr. NTR, who was deeply moved by the lesser-known stories of Phalke and immediately agreed to the project. The film will chronicle the birth and rise of Indian cinema, offering Jr. NTR a chance to step away from action roles and explore a new cinematic space.
The project is expected to be a pan-India release, promising a never-seen-before cinematic spectacle that delves into the making of Indian cinema through the lens of Dadasaheb Phalke.
