Police in Jharsuguda district have successfully busted a fake dacoity case in the Badamal police station area, arresting four accused and seizing cash, mobile phones and motorcycles.
According to police, the case was registered on August 20, 2026, under relevant sections of the BNS after a complaint by Radiant Cash Management Services Ltd. cash executive Pinku Suna alias Sana (33). He claimed that unknown miscreants looted money from him near the Toyota showroom on SH‑10.
However, inconsistencies in his statement and earlier lapses in depositing collected cash raised suspicion. Investigation revealed that Pinku, along with associates Manoj Nanda (22), Ravi Suna (29) and Anand Tandia (35), had fabricated the dacoity story to cover up unaccounted funds.
Police seized Rs 4,89,700 in cash, five mobile phones, an Apache motorcycle (OD 12 E 4958) and a Hero iSmart motorcycle (OD 14 H 5457) from the accused. All four have been produced in court.
Further investigation is underway to trace other individuals involved and account for the missing funds. Police confirmed that the alleged robbery was a pre‑planned conspiracy to conceal misappropriated cash.
