During counselling, candidates can fill their preferred choices of IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other participating institutions. Seats will be allotted based on rank, category, availability, and candidate preferences.
Admission Criteria Remain Unchanged
Officials clarified that seat allocation through JoSAA remains independent of Class 12 percentage scores. However, candidates must still satisfy the eligibility requirements and verification criteria outlined in the official JEE Advanced 2026 information brochure.
Students and parents are advised to carefully review counselling schedules, document verification requirements, and seat acceptance deadlines to avoid missing important admission-related procedures.
Focus Shifts to IIT Admissions
Following the release of the JEE Advanced 2026 merit list, attention now turns to the highly anticipated counselling and admission process. Thousands of successful candidates will compete for seats in India’s premier engineering institutions, including the prestigious IITs.
The strong performance of candidates from the IIT Delhi zone and the growing participation of female candidates have emerged as key highlights of this year’s examination cycle.
