New Delhi:Â Festivals are incomplete without dessert. However, for people with diabetes, it is a necessary sacrifice they have to make for their health, by staying away from sweets. Try sugar-free Shrikhand at home.
Ingredients
- 10 strands of saffron
- 1 cup low-fat milk
- 2 tbsp regular milk
- 1 cup hung curd
- 3 tsp sugar substitute
- 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
- 2 cups chopped mixed fruits (apple, papaya, oranges, grapes, pineapple)
Method
- Combine the saffron and milk in a bowl and mix well till the saffron dissolves.
- Combine the curd, sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron, and milk mixture and blend in a mixer till smooth.
- Refrigerate for two hours.
-  Place ½ cup of mixed fruit in four serving bowls, top with ¼ cup of shrikhand and serve immediately.
