Odisha Vigilance officers caught two Jaleswar Municipality employees accepting a ₹10,000 bribe from a contractor today.
The contractor had completed IEC-related work and waited over six weeks for payment. Dealing Assistant Braja Gopal Ghose Mohapatra and Sanitation Expert Ratikanta Patra demanded money to process the bill.
The contractor approached Vigilance after repeated requests failed. Officials set a trap and caught both employees while they took the bribe. Vigilance recovered the full amount and launched searches at two locations linked to Ghose Mohapatra.
