In a heart-wrenching incident near the old tollgate at Panikoili in Jajpur district, a tragic road accident led to the untimely death of a couple, leaving their four-year-old son in police custody.
The family of three was travelling on a motorcycle when an unidentified vehicle collided with them near the tollgate and fled the scene.
The impact was devastating, claiming the life of the mother at the accident site and severely injuring the father, who later succumbed to his injuries at Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital. Local police officers and volunteers rushed to their aid, but the accident proved fatal.
The four-year-old son miraculously survived the crash and is now under the care of the local police.
