Indian armed forces successfully executed Operation Sindoor, targeting terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoK).

The strikes eliminated 14 family members of Jaish-e-Mohammed founder Masood Azhar, including his brother’s son and India’s most wanted terrorist, Rauf Asgar, who was critically injured in the offensive.

The precision missile strikes targeted strategic locations, including Bahawalpur, a known Jaish stronghold, and Muridke, a Lashkar-e-Taiba base. The operation was conducted two weeks after the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, which had claimed 26 civilian lives.

At a media briefing, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri emphasised the measured and proportionate nature of the strikes, stating that Pakistan had failed to take meaningful action against terrorism within its borders. The intelligence assessments indicated imminent terror threats, necessitating swift preemptive and deterrent actions from India.
