Bhubaneswar: The Railways has planned to operate ‘Jagannath Express’ train under Bharat Gaurav scheme before the Rath Yatra 2023.
It was informed by the Railway Minister Aswini Vaishnaw on the sidelines of reviewing various projects under East Coast Railway zone.
He said the ‘Jagannath Express will the second train after Ramayan Express under the Bharat Gaurav scheme. The graph and design of the Jagannath Express have already been prepared. The route of the train has not yet been finalised, he added.
The trains under Bharat Gaurav scheme aim at showcasing the rich cultural heritage and magnificent historical places to the people. The scheme will also play a vital role in promoting domestic tourism.
Asked regarding Metro train in Odisha, the Minister said the State government has not yet sent any such proposal regarding metro train project. The Minister, however, informed that Vande Bharat Express will soon be introduced in Odisha.
